Whalley Legion is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all our workers and customers. To ensure we have as safe and healthy workplace, we have developed the following COVID-19 Safety Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Executive and workers are all responsible for implementing this plan.
Our goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in our workplace and that requires full cooperation among our workers ,executive and customers. Only through this cooperative effort can we establish and maintain the safety and health of our workers and legion lounge.
We are serious about safety and health and keeping our workers and patrons safe at the Legion. Worker involvement is essential in developing and implementing a successful COVID-19 Plan. We have involved our workers in this process by addressing the workers concerns around having proper PPD equipment available for them to use. We have requested the workers suggestions and feedback ,as well as suggestions from our executive . All suggestions have been discussed and implemented into this plan. Our COVID-19 Plan will address guidelines and standards related to COVID-19:
• hygiene
• controls for social distancing;
• cleaning, disinfecting
• prompt identification and isolation of sick persons;
• communications to executive and workers;
• communications and instructions for customers.
Screening and policies for employees exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19
Workers have been informed of and encouraged to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Workers will immediately communicate with their manager if they are sick or experiencing symptoms while at home, or at the work place. They will immediately go home if at work .
Workers will be informed immediately if they have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 at their workplace and requiring them to quarantine for the required amount of time. In addition, protecting the privacy of workers’ health status and health information.
All visitors advised not to enter the workplace if they are experiencing symptoms or have contracted COVID-19.
Hand washing: Basic infection prevention measures are being implemented at our workplaces at all times. Workers are instructed to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water frequently throughout the day, but especially at the beginning and end of their shift, prior to any mealtimes and after using the toilet. Hand sanitizer will be made available to the staf.
All customers and visitors to the workplace will be asked to sanitize their hands prior to or immediately upon entering the facility. Hand-sanitizer dispensers are at entrances and locations in the workplace so they can be used for hand hygiene in place of soap and water, as long as hands are not visibly soiled.
Respiratory etiquette: Cover your cough or sneeze. Workers, customers and visitors are being instructed to cover their mouth and nose with their sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and to avoid touching their face, in particular their mouth, nose and eyes, with their hands. They should dispose of tissues in provided trash receptacles and wash or sanitize their hands immediately afterward. Respiratory etiquette will be demonstrated on posters and supported by making tissues and trash receptacles available to all workers, customers and visitors.
Social distancing: Social distancing of six feet will be implemented and maintained between workers, and visitors in the workplace through the following engineering and administrative controls: signage, markings and instructions for employees and customers. Plexiglas divider in front of bar, tables 2 meter apart , lines for social distancing. Sign in sheet at door with information for contact in case of a virus outbreak at the premise.
Parties of 6 people can now sit together , if they are in their social bubble
49 customers are allowed in the premise at once , including staff
Cleaning, disinfection, and ventilation
Regular housekeeping practices are being implemented, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of work surfaces, equipment, tools and small appliances, and areas in the work environment, including restrooms, kitchen stations, Frequent cleaning and disinfecting will be conducted in high-touch areas, such as, door handles, credit card readers, delivery equipment, etc. Appropriate cleaning and disinfectant supplies have been purchased.
Communications and training
This COVID-19 Plan will communicated to all workers and necessary training will be provided. Additional communication and training will be ongoing and provided to all workers who did not receive the initial training. Instructions will be communicated to customers and visitors about: conducted to ensure social distancing between the customers and workers; required hygiene practices. The workers will be asked for any input they may have for this plan.
WASHROOM PROTOCOL
Washrooms will be cleaned and sanitized once a day. There will be wipes for the guests to wipe down the taps or areas they may touch. There will be hand sanitizer outside the washroom , please sanitize your hands after exiting the washroom. Washrooms are limited in space, 1 to 2 people , please social distant while waiting outside the washroom.
Lounge Visitors
The number of visitors to the lounge , including staff will be limited to 49. Once this number has been reached , no more guests will be allowed in the Legion.
If visitors have any of the following symptoms they should not enter the premise
Have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
Are currently experiencing, or recently experienced any acute respiratory illness symptoms, such as
fever, cough or shortness of breath.
Have been in close contact with any person who has been confirmed positive for COVID-19
Have been in close contact with any person who have traveled and are also exhibiting acute respiratory
illness symptoms.
Tables and chairs have been arranged to maintain a 2m distance from other guests, please do not move the tables or chairs .
Meat Draw Table
The meat will be put in plastic bags with label saying what is inside, we will also put a list of the meat on the table . This will stop the guests from touching the meat.
There will be a Plexiglas divider used or the volunteers will wear a mask. We will prefer correct change for the meat draw , but this is not always possible. The volunteers will be wearing gloves and will have to sanitize their hands frequently when taking the money. . If there is a line up they need to be 2 meter apart.
50/50 Draw
The volunteer will be sitting at a table , they will not be walking around selling tickets. They will have to wear a mask and gloves , unless a Plexiglas divider is available. We would prefer correct change for the tickets if possible. If there is a line up they need to be 2 meter apart.
Pool Players:
Pool players must sanitize all balls, pool cue, triangle , pool table and money slot before each game.
They must sanitize their hands or wear gloves.
Physical distancing must be maintained between each players, unless they are playing with one of the guests in their bubble sitting at their table
Please be respectful to others
If rules are not followed you will be asked to leave the legion.
Workers Responsibility:
Upon arriving at work , they must wash or sanitize their hands immediately before starting, during the day and after completion of their work day . Wash hands for at least 20 seconds.
After handling cash bar staff must wash their hands
Employees must sanitize their work area throughout the day. When sanitizing tables and chairs they must wear a mask and gloves if appropriate. Gloves , masks sanitizers are supplies
Employees must avoid physical contact with others and shall direct others increase personal space to at least 6 feet where possible.
Kitchen staff needs to wear a mask when taking a food order, and wash their hands after taking the order. They must sanitize the kitchen area , order table frequently.
Single use condiments will be used when available.
When picking up dishes from the dish bin, wear a mask until they are put in the dishwasher.
Responsibility of Executive:
All executive must be familiar with the Plan and be ready to answer questions from employees and guests. Executive must set a good example by following the plan at all times. This involves practicing good personal hygiene and onsite safety practices to prevent the spread of the virus. Executive must encourage this same behavior from all employees and members.
